We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working intern to work up to 20 hours per week with a desire to gain working experience and skills in maintaining a dynamic new website, website improvements and design as part of our web development team. This opportunity provides college students with hands-on learning directly related to their current academic studies. The intern must be able to work a minimum of 15 hours per week, days and times are flexible.
Tasks may include, but may not be limited to the following:
Support web and graphic designer efforts
Web design
Web site maintenance
Graphic design including illustration
Photo editing and retouching
Web site construction
Flash design
Flash programming
Qualifications:
Students must be able to work a minimum of 15 hours per week, days and times are
flexible within our normal work day
Proficient using Windows, Microsoft Office suite products, and the Adobe Suite of
graphic/web design applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, and
Dreamweaver
Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced
environment
Strong knowledge of web development, web design and scripting languages such as:
o Javascript (with libraries like Mootools and jQuery)
o HTML
o CSS

Mission Statement
The mission of the Teen Research and Academic Preparedness Program is to be a youth-driven teen program providing a safe, positive environment where at-risk pre-teens and teens can engage in constructive STEM+the Arts based educational and recreational activities.
Description
The Teen Research and Academic Preparedness Program provides a youth-driven safe place for at-risk pre - teens and teens to connect with one another, gain access to valuable academic support, and engage in unique learning opportunities that will reveal their strengths and interests. All youth can excel when provided with opportunities for healthy risk-taking, allowing them to discover their own identities and unique skills.
Studies and research show that youth attendance in out-of-school programs is positively associated with many academic and non-academic outcomes. This includes higher grades and academic achievement, less problematic and risky behaviors, reduced amount of drinking and drug use, increased engagement in service-learning opportunities, leadership and volunteering opportunities, and better emotional adjustment. Our staff is dedicated to the critical mission of helping young people within our community navigate through their adolescent years safely and with self-confidence.
