We are looking for volunteers to join a small team of motivated, reliable, and caring volunteers to participate in our child abuse prevention presentations. You will receive a free 3-hour online training and participate on a like-minded team to learn to co-facilitate evidence-based, age-appropriate, child abuse prevention education at local community centers after school hours and/or charter schools during the school day. Schedule is flexible and support for you is always available.

As our community partners (centers and schools) rely on us to be there when we say we will, it's imperative that we have reliable facilitators. You're always partnered with a co-facilitator, however. For an engaging and effective presentation, it's also necessary for facilitators to be comfortable with, engaging, and kind to children.

Committed volunteers earn a stipend for each lesson they present.

You can begin by chatting with us and observing one or more of our lessons before completing the online training. We can't wait to meet you!

About KIDS EMPOWERED INC

Mission Statement

We are a team of dedicated, caring, and trained volunteers on a mission to teach kids to recognize, prevent, and stop all forms of child abuse and bullying. We believe that knowledge is power, and it's much more difficult to be a victim when you are empowered with the knowledge and skills to help protect yourself and others from abuse. We aim to reach as many children in Albuquerque with this vital education as we can.

Description

Since 2017, we have utilized an evidence-based, age-appropriate curriculum to present 2 free lessons per child at community/youth-serving centers, and schools. We've reached over 1,600 children in grades Kindergarten-5th with information on body safety, safe adults, types of abuse, and the importance of speaking up. The lessons are interactive and engaging for most kids, with the youngest receiving lessons from puppets!

We are looking for reliable, committed volunteers who have a passion for child abuse prevention and a comfort/playfulness with kids. We are flexible with schedules and will do all we can to make it work for both of us!
