Opportunity Overview:
Appleton Farms is currently recruiting family & youth education volunteers to lead or assist education programs for families and youth based in the farmyard, gardens, fields, and forests of the farm for children from toddlers through middle school and their families. Examples of programs include preschool farm explorers’ classes, weekend family "farmyard chores" programs, story hour programs, and more. Position requires ability to commit to leading or assisting a specific program for the program’s designated duration - time commitment is flexible and varies from program to program.

Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to the following):
  • Lead or assist education programs
  • Communicate effectively with staff and other volunteers
  • Adhere to The Trustees safety and COVID-19 protocols
  • Log volunteer hours
Qualifications:
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Friendly and outgoing personality
  • Have reliable transportation to the Farm
  • Enjoy working with people
  • Ability to work independently with staff near by
  • Minimum age: 16 years old
  • Please note: A background check may be required for this role
Time Commitment:
Our family programs occur on Saturdays and Sundays. Other programs occur during the weekday during or after school hours. Help for one program a weekend or multiple! The ideal candidate will commit to a weekly schedule with farm education staff.
