Brunswick county Habitat for Humanity is growing, and we are looking to expand our volunteer opportunities.
Volunteers with special skills are a big help when it comes to our mission. Some lend a hand with filing and data entry; others assist the planning and execution with a onetime event. We are currently seeking individuals or groups for a variety of opportunities to make a difference in the community. We have jobs for everyone, and we plan to get you involved in the job that maximizes your abilities and helps guide our mission forward.
We are looking for help in the following areas:

Mission Statement
Brunswick County Habitat for Humanity, which was founded in 1994, is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International; a non profit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with the community and people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing and positively impact the lives of deserving people. We believe decent shelter is a matter of conscience and action and invite others to work together to build houses with families in need. Habitat International has built more than 250,000 homes around the world, providing more than 1 million people in more than 3000 communities with decent affordable shelter.
Description
Since our founding, Brunswick County Habitat for Humanity, has completed 31 houses, with two currently under construction, in neighborhoods from Shallotte to Bolivia and Boiling Spring Lakes. Our partner families include young families with small children, single parents and the disabled. Our homes are built with volunteer labor and tax deductible donations, and are sold to our partner families with a no-interest loan. Homeowners invest a substantial amount of time and work - sweat equity - into building their own homes and the homes of others prior to taking over home ownership. The money collected from the mortgage repayment is then used to help finance the construction of future Habitat homes.
