Mission Statement

"to cure and prevent Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis through research, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these digestive diseases through education and support."

CCFA sponsors research grants and fellowship awards for research on Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The organization’s magazine, "Take Charge", features articles on, among other things, the latest in biomedical research, new drugs, and CCFA chapter events. CCFA also publishes and distributes brochures to provide information on aspects of living with Crohn's disease and colitis. The brochures deal with issues such as medications, nutrition, women's issues, and surgery. Informational guides addressing Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are available for children and teenagers, parents, and teachers. CCFA's chapters offer educational meetings and support groups for patients and families in the communities they serve. CCFA also offers services like the Camp Oasis, a multi-day summer camp program for young people with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis.
