Organization overview: Established in 2021, Captain Scott Legacy Society (CSLS) is on a mission to inspire and empower people of all ages to find meaningful purpose in their communities as volunteers. The organization strengthens the volunteer spirit through impactful storytelling, as well as accessible volunteer training and recognition initiatives. We’re on a mission to promote social good!
Opportunity : At CSLS, we want to make volunteering a part of every person’s life story! To make volunteering more accessible and powerful as an activity, we are developing an online learning platform that contains self-paced module courses that support both aspiring changemakers and seasoned volunteers. Courses will span a variety of topics, including: volunteering basics, foundational education on causes and cause-related topics, nonprofit skills, and/or volunteer-related topics. Think of the volunteer training hub as professional development, but for volunteers! Let’s shift the culture of volunteering to one that recognizes volunteer work as real work that requires valuable training and skill-building opportunities. Our belief is that informed people will participate in volunteer work and consistently give back. If you see and understand the power of education and awareness in guiding meaningful action, then you would be a great candidate for this curriculum developer position.
