Our nonprofit organization, YesLiberia, Inc., needs a volunteer who has experience in public relations to help us create authentic awareness on social media.

Some people are judged for spending so much time on social media while others see value in doing something meaningful on social media. Whether you use social media for connecting with your friends and families or for creating content for fun, this position could be great for you. We are looking for someone who already enjoys being on social media and wants to do something positive for a great cause.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable with scheduling and HOSTING LIVE SESSIONS on social media (Facebook or IG) every two weeks. If you have 20mins to volunteer virtually per week, this is the best time to use your comfort level on social media to make a difference for the 100 poor students we support in Africa. And we will help train you and provide all of the little details you might need. We expect the the following from the ideal candidate:

  1. MUST love talking to people or presenting information
  2. MUST have great oral communications skills
  3. MUST be comfortable hosting frequent LIVE sessions based on your availabilities
  4. MUST be able to bring new ideas to the table for LIVE hosting
  5. MUST be available for 1hr to 2hrs each week for planning, preparing, and hosting

Before you start volunteering with us, we will do the following:

  1. Provide the virtual access and tools you will need
  2. Train you on possible tools you might use
  3. Help you with the strategy or process
  4. Help you schedule the LIVE sessions based on your availability
  5. Collaborate with you to create sample topics or questions
  6. And any other help you might need

Description

Conviction created YesLiberia. Daily the needs of underprivileged are ignored. We ignore their struggles because it’s easier to deal with the more important things in our lives-- like climbing the corporate ladder and saving money so we don’t become indigent. And some of us ignore their challenges because they bring back unpleasant memories we seek to repress. But disregarding the plight of the underprivileged yields no resolution. Then certain things happen to remind us their struggles exist no matter how hard we try to pretend our needs surpass theirs.

Jallah was convicted by several of those things over a short period of time. The prostitution of children in Thailand reminded him of Liberia. The rape and war in Congo reminded him of Liberia. The genocide in Rwanda reminded him of Liberia. He remembered his underprivileged past--a past where he was seen as less than elite based on his tribal and economic status and where his education came as a gift from the United Methodist Church.

Reminded, he became convicted to act and YesLiberia was founded to educate and help underprivileged Liberians whose plight he intimately understood.

YesLiberia is a 501c3 charity organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service since July 2009. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowable by law. YesLiberia is also registered at four government agencies in Liberia.
