We’re looking for dedicated individuals interested in joining our Board!
The ILS Corporate Board acts as the financial and legal governing body for the organization. The Corporate Board meets about once a month to discuss our budget, legal standing, and to support all branches of the organization.
The Corporate Board is made up of several positions:
President (currently Co-Presidents)
Secretary
Treasurer
Alumni Advisor(s)
Seminar Chair
There are also 3 current Committee Chair positions on the Board. Click on each position below for a full description of what that role entails.

For more specific information on the structure and rules of the Corporate Board, please review the Bylaws HERE.
If you are over 21 and feel called to join our Corporate Board, please send an email to president@ illinoisleadershipseminars.org and secretary@ illinoisleadershipseminars.orgby August 10th. Please express which position(s), member-at-large, or committee chair that you are interested in serving as in your email. Please note, according to our bylaws, anyone interested in running for President must have already been on the board for at least 1 quarter.
Anyone within or external of our Alumni Association is invited to run for any position (excluding President, unless they are already on the Board). If you know someone who may have the skills and interest in these roles, please pass on the information.
Elections for the 2021-2022 Board will take place in August. We will provide more detail to anyone interested in running for a Corporate Board position. We look forward to supporting the future of ILS together!

We unleash the leadership potential of Illinois' youth.
Description
ILS has been providing quality, free leadership seminars in Illinois since 1977. We are a 100% volunteer organization with 501(c)3 nonprofit status. Through our programs, students interact with leaders in industry, government, the arts, education, and the media, coming in contact with a diverse world of leaders and leadership styles. Students are then challenged to discover and unleash their own leadership potential in their schools and communities, using the tools and resources made available to them at ILS. We at Illinois Leadership Seminars don't tell our participants what to think, or even how to think, but stress the importance of careful thought for our world's future leaders.

REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 21
- The Board meets monthly for about 2 hours and then there is some work outside meetings. Estimate: 5 hours a month.
- This is for the FY2023 Board. The position(s) need to be filled for the full year (August 2022 - August 2023). These positions are up for re-election each year.
