ORGANIZATION: Girls on the Run

QUICK OVERVIEW

Girls on the Run Los Angeles needs passionate people just like YOU to join our team of Coaches/Mentors in a transformational program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. During these challenging times, they need you now more than ever!



MISSION

GOTRLA creatively integrates running into character development lessons that inspire girls to love who they are, have healthy relationships, and make a difference in their community.

IMPACT

We recognize the important connection between body and mind. Our program centers around fun and accessible physical activity, ensuring we are strengthening physical as well as emotional- health.



VOLUNTEER ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Join one of our IN-PERSON teams in LA County this Fall from late September through the first week of December. Weekday (afternoon/after school hours) and Weekend teams (morning hours) are available, it just takes an afternoon a week or one weekend morning to build a lifetime of healthy habits.

All volunteer roles are best suited for ages 18

Time Commitment

1.5-3 Hours/week Schedules available(self-selected)

Start and End Times Vary by Assignment from 1.5-hour Sessions between 2:00 pm-5:30 pm ( 1-2 practices a week, self-select your team!)

Girls on the Run Los Angeles is an Independent Council of Girls on the Run International, which has a network of 200+ locations across the United States and Canada. Girls on the Run is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. Meeting twice a week in small teams of 8-15 girls, we teach life skills through dynamic, conversation-based lessons and running games. The 24-lesson curriculum is taught by certified Girls on the Run coaches and includes three parts: understanding ourselves, valuing relationships and teamwork and understanding how we connect with and shape the world at large.
