Brookdale Hospice is seeking reliable, compassionate individuals who want to make a difference by providing companionship visits to patients on hospice services. This could also include providing the family with support by sitting with their loved one while they take a break. Volunteers may visit patients living at home and in nursing facilities. Volunteer companionship visits can include, but are not limited to: reading with a patient, watching television or a movie, playing a game, going outside for fresh air or simply just being present and having a conversation. The need for companionship seems greater than ever. There is no physical care involved. Hours are flexible.
Training is completed online. Volunteers are able to visit their patients on weekdays and/or weekends
