About New Sector Alliance

For two decades, New Sector Alliance has incubated and grown cutting-edge program models that support diverse, forward-thinking leaders as they design careers, lives, and organizations that change the world. Through cross-sector alliances with philanthropic funders, nonprofits, and private corporations, our programs invest in highly capable Fellows and support them as they apply future-focused practices to address the world’s most pressing challenges and opportunities. Our approach is grounded in empirical academic research, drawing on disciplines spanning business, economics, education, organizational behavior, product design, public policy, and psychology.

To date, we’ve scaled our programs through partnerships with 500+ leading organizations including Accenture, AmeriCorps, The American Red Cross, The Boston Foundation, Goodwill, The Greenlight Fund, Net Impact, Upwardly Global, The Taproot Foundation, TechSoup, Year Up, and many others. These partnerships have enabled us to collectively reach hundreds of thousands of individuals and organizations and make an ongoing impact on many of the most pressing issues of our time.

What is the Leadership Longevity Fellowship?

With support from committed new investors, New Sector is enthusiastically joining the movement to address the unmet extensive mental health and wellness needs within the social sector workforce and our society at large. As a first step, we are launching the Leadership Longevity Fellowship, a hybrid (in-person and virtual) fellowship program to support mission-driven frontline leaders serving vulnerable or historically marginalized communities. The program will be designed to have a high-touch impact on individual pilot program participants while leveraging technology and other resources to have a large-scale impact on a much broader population.

What's Included?
  • Two in-person retreats, all expenses covered
  • Virtual training sessions focused on developing frontline skills such as trauma-informed care for self and others, leading with empathy while maintaining boundaries, and intersectionality with equity and cultural competence
  • One-on-one and group coaching from a mental health and wellness specialist
  • A supportive community of peers to provide a safe place to discuss current workplace issues and to promote relationship-building with fellow nonprofit leaders
  • Community knowledge sharing through a Community Project, which will consist of presentations of learnings back to fellows’ own communities
  • Networking conversations with New Sector’s diverse network of nonprofit professionals to provide opportunities for collaboration, connection, mentorship, and building social capital
Key Program Dates
  • January 17-20, 2023: In-person retreat and kickoff at Saguaro Lake Ranch in Mesa, Arizona
  • Bi-weekly from December 2022 to July 2023: Virtual workshops and gatherings
  • Late summer 2023, date TBD: In-person closing retreat and celebration
