Recruiting Organization: Global Strays

Global Strays, an international animal welfare and education nonprofit, is holding its 4th Annual Benefit to celebrate its progress in the fight for global animal welfare! We are seeking day-of volunteers preferably LOCATED IN THE NEW YORK/LONG ISLAND REGION to help set up and work at our event. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who can help us bring this event to life in various ways and are interested in learning more about our organization. This will be an in-person position.

The volunteers must be available Friday, August 26th, 2022 to assist with all aspects of the event, including setup and breakdown. The event will take place in Southampton, NY from 6:00 to 9:30 PM and volunteers will be needed from 2 PM to 11 PM. Volunteers will receive a stipend of $200, as well as reimbursement for travel* to the event. Meals and refreshments are also provided. Please include a resume when applying (cover letter/references not needed).

Potential volunteers: up to six (6) individuals

Volunteer(s) will be responsible for:

  • Decorating the venue the day of the event and helping to facilitate any deliveries or loading/unloading of equipment
  • During the event, assisting in several capacities including checking-in guests, handing out gift bags, silent auction, paddle raise for a live appeal, etc. Any necessary training will be provided.
  • Communicating with guests to answer questions and help assist guests with the silent auction or any other interactive components.
  • Event clean up and decoration/equipment breakdown


  • Must be above 21 or older
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in event planning is a huge plus!
  • Enthusiasm and interest in animal welfare
  • Preferred candidates will live in the New York City area
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs.

*Flight costs cannot be reimbursed, but ground transport can and will.
