The Gen Z Advisory Council works in tandem with the Safe At My House nonprofit organization and members are Ambassador’s for Safe At My House within their communities. The Gen Z Advisory Council serves as a crucial community advocate for SAMH. Members of the Gen Z Advisory Council exercise their strengths in service to our mission by providing our organization with their knowledge of current trends, their diverse perspectives on current events, their connections to local resources or peers, their philanthropic support, and/or other various forms of requested assistance.
Safe At My House Gen Z Advisory Council was formed to :
-Provide a voice to the intended demographic of the organization
-Allow for individuals with limited time the opportunity to give critical assistance
-Create a direct line of communication between the Board of Directors and today’s youth
-Aid in efforts to increase philanthropic support
-Recognize specific volunteers for their distinguished service
-Enlist the help of others without expanding the Board of Directors
Structure of the Safe At My House Gen Z Advisory Council:
-Members are approved by Board of Directors
-Members must commit to 9 months on the Advisory Council with the option to rejoin up until graduation
-Council consists of a minimum of eight to a maximum of twelve (Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and four to eight additional members)
-Meetings will be held on the third Saturday of every month for no longer than sixty minutes
-Members must be between the ages of 12 and 18 years old .
As a Gen Z Advisory Council member, you are a representative of your home community as well as your organization. Members will be selected because their ideas and hard work embody our mission to provide the proper tools and resources to prevent youth violence and promote safe spaces free of bullying and addiction . As a result, it is also important to be aware that your actions also reflect on Safe At My House.
The development and success of the organization’s programs and initiatives is affected by your performance in completing duties. As a result, it is extremely important members attend all meetings, let us know in advance if they are unable to attend meetings, and be punctual. Your fellow Gen Z Advisory Council members will also rely on you to provide help and support.
As a Gen Z Advisory Council member, you are a role model to other youth who want to be leaders in their communities, just like you. This is an opportunity and a challenge to practice important leadership skills, and to guide and inspire other future leaders. The example that you set, through your motivation, your energy, and your commitment, will affect not only your fellow Gen Z Advisory Council members, but also our engagement with youth in our communities.
