  • Do you like to have fun? Connect with kids? Learn about yourself?

If you said yes to any of the above, then we need you!

Foundation Communities is a local nonprofit dedicated to providing quality affordable housing and support services to families and individuals. We operate free after school programs at 11 Learning Centers all over Austin, including at our Trails at Vintage Creek Apartments off of Northeast Drive and 183 (78723).

While most of our centers focus specifically on elementary-aged students, Trails at Vintage Creek has a Teen Program for middle and high school students, many of whom are immigrants who are English Language Learners and would benefit from additional support in math or language arts homework.

For this opportunity, volunteers are needed Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00-6:00 PM. We can offer some flexibility for arrival and departure within these times. To start, volunteers commit to at least one regular shift per week for the semester.

Volunteers must complete an online application, pass a background check (no cost to the volunteer), and complete a 1-1.5 hour online course. Volunteers must be at least 20 years old to serve with our Teen Program. (Volunteers 16+ may serve with our elementary program.)

Our next orientation opportunities will begin August 15 for the next school year. Let us know you're interested and we'll send you updates when registration has opened.
