Description

Incorporated in 1977, Floodwood Services and Training, Inc. (FST), delivers services to older adults, caregivers and others struggling with physical, developmental and mental health challenges in some of the most remote and impoverished areas in rural Minnesota devoid of more urban support systems including sections of three Minnesota counties, St. Louis, Carlton, and Itasca, a 40-mile radius of Floodwood. At FST those we serve, our participants always come first as demonstrated by FST’s compassionate and caring staff who actively demonstrate our mission by "promoting and maintaining the emotional, mental, and physical well-being of our participants providing opportunities for personal growth and success through work, education, and individualized services." As the primary aging services provider in the area, FST programs for older adults include operating a four-season 60+ Chore Program (60+CP) (over 27 years); caterer of meals on wheels and congregate dining programs; food shelf distribution (provides space), and free curbside recycling pick-up. FST also provides Day Support Services, Pre-vocational Services, Employment Support Services and operates a thriFSTore and Recycling Center.
