Safe Crossings Foundation (SCF) supports grieving children in the most effective ways possible by taking a big-picture approach to analyzing community needs, resources, and gaps in services. As a leader in funding services that help grieving children heal, we are committed to learning and listening to feedback from the youth we serve.
SCF Youth Advisory Council consists of high school students who have lost a parent, sibling, or loved one and are passionate about helping other grieving youth. The Council’s focus includes, but is not limited to: new grief service proposals, recommendations on funding to fill service gaps, and designing approaches to reach as many grieving children as possible, especially those who would not otherwise find support. There is no cost to apply for or join the Council.
Members have the opportunity to:
- Learn the ins and outs of philanthropic giving and non-profit administration.
- Develop leadership, communication, and planning skills.
- Earn community service hours.
- Connect with other students who care about helping grieving children.
The Council meets virtually on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month from 3:00-4:00pm. Members are required to attend both sessions.
