McLaren Hospice is looking for dedicated veterans who would like to make a difference in the lives of veteran patients that are being faced with advanced illness. Training is provided and medical experience is not necessary.
Services may include:
- Friendly visits with patient and family
- Listening to patient reminisce
- Reading to patient
- Respite support for caregiver by sitting with patient as family takes a break
- Assisting with pinning ceremonies for our veterans
Patients are located in Sterling Heights and the greater Macomb area including St Clair Shores, Chesterfield, Harrison Township, Warren and Shelby Township.

Hospice care is a program designed to meet the physical, emotional, social, spiritual and practical needs of terminally ill patients and their family. The philosophy of care is aimed to maintaining or improving quality of life to help the patient and their families live life as fully as possible,
Volunteers are the heart of hospice: They provide respite, companionship and support to terminally ill patients and their families. These small token of support are needed and greatly appreciated by patients and their families.
