For SNIP Assistant:
Arrive soon after the transport van returns to county. Check on all animals for cleanliness, health, etc. This may require animals to be switched into a clean new carrier. Dogs will need to be walked and can be loved on. Once owners arrive, SNIP staff will go over post-op surgery instructions. During this time, volunteer will go retrieve their pet and bring outside to the owner. After all animals are picked up, crates need to be emptied and cleaned. As well as new crates lined with newspaper for the next transport day.
For SNIP Callback (Virtual):
This person will be sent a list of individuals who need a call back for general information related to SNIP. This could be directing them to the application on our website, answering generic questions. This could include filling out the application over the phone with clients who don't have internet access.

The Blue Ridge Humane Society offers a variety of volunteer opportunities from assisting in our Adoption Center, Thrift Store, and with Community Programs! If you are a dog or cat lover, we are looking for driven individuals who are believe in ensuring the highest quality of life for animals in Henderson County. There are so many pieces that go into fulfilling our mission from adoption, prevention, and education and we need volunteers throughout every step of the way!
