Ring the Bell at the Red Kettles in Akron - The Salvation Army

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: The Salvation Army of Summit County

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Come join us to ring the bells at our Red Kettles at The Salvation Army.

We have 40 kettles that can go out every day between November 4th and December 24th spread all over Akron.

Sadly, we can't put kettles out without volunteers. Many days we couldn't even put out half the kettles.

Our Red Kettles help give The Salvation Army the means to meet BASIC human needs. It helps provide funding for our Social Services like our pantry, our hot meal programs and supplies for our homeless programs. Bottom line is, without the kettles the doors couldn't stay open.

So consider one day, a few hours a week, whatever you have available and come represent those in need by ringing a bell in your community or anywhere in Akron you'd like.

Bring your friends, sponsor a kettle to staff with your business or church. Every person can make a difference.

If you are interested in ringing bells, or any of our other Christmas activities, we're simply collecting the names though our "Christmas Volunteer Interest Form" to be contacted by The Salvation Army. Please copy and paste the link below to into another webpage to fill out the form.

Description

With three corps and seven service units, The Salvation Army of Summit County offers a wide variety of programs to persons in need across the county. With free groceries and hot meals, families and individuals can stay well nourished. Utility assistance is on hand to people who have a disconnection notice on their gas or electric. At the Child Development Center, preschool children learn basic skills necessary to enter and excel in kindergarten. The Learning Center, an academic after school program provides homework help as well as time for creative outlets. Children and youth participate in character building programs fostered through an array of recreational activities, music and spiritual guidance. Seasonal giving programs allow low income families to enjoy and celebrate the holidays with donated gifts and food.
