Recruiting Organization: Northeast Community Center PDX

Do you care deeply about your community? Are you committed to equity? Are you energized by the potential for creating an enduring impact? Are you excited about the opportunity of working with others to guide the transformation of a strong and stable organization?

If yes, the NECC has a place for you - on a Board Committee or on the Board of Directors. We are eager to engage enthusiastic and energetic community members to help fulfill the NECC’s potential to be a vibrant community-focused organization that supports individual wellness and strengthens community connections.

Guided by our new Strategic Plan, the NECC seeks to:

  • Be responsive to the programming needs of the broader community;
  • Apply an equity lens to all organizational activities;
  • Remove financial barriers to participation in programming and activities; and
  • Connect people and resources and expand opportunities for community engagement.

We believe that the NECC can play a vital role in supporting the physical, emotional, and social needs of our community.

We believe that eliminating systemic barriers to programs and activities that support individuals and the community creates equitable access for all.

We believe that the NECC can strengthen community connections.

We believe in building a diverse and inclusive staff and board that represents the neighborhoods we serve, and we value the life experiences of BIPOC, LGBTQ2S+, and other persons identifying as a member of a community that has been marginalized.

We believe that the NECC can participate in dismantling oppressive systems that embed barriers to BIPOC people, communities, and to others similarly impacted.

We believe that the NECC has an important role in furthering racial and social justice in NE Portland.

We can ONLY achieve these ambitious goals with the participation of our community.

Does this sound like you? If yes, please drop us an email (board@necommunitycenter.org) or fill out our Board Interest Form and tell us what excites you about this opportunity!
