Volunteering at AWESOME Festival will see you gain arts and event experience, the chance to work alongside industry professionals, all whilst you enjoy the festival atmosphere!

We have the following roles available!

FESTIVAL ASSISTANT

Festival Assistants will perform a variety of tasks, with each shift bringing something new and exciting including:

• Working alongside professional WA artists

• Assisting with our activity hubs

• Manning exhibitions and installations


TEAM LEADER

Our Team Leaders will take on a little more responsibility. Perfect for those seeking industry experience in a fast-paced festival atmosphere, tasks will include:

• Assist the Volunteer Coordinator by ensuring the smooth running of one of our activity hubs

• Check activity materials are stocked

• Work alongside an industry professional

• Working to a schedule and delegating lunch breaks


SURVEY ASSISTANT

The Survey Assistant role would suit an outgoing personality, that's not afraid to engage with patrons to get their feedback on the festival.

Survey Assistant duties include:

• Surveying patrons

• Answering questions from the public

• Distributing programs


FRONT OF HOUSE ASSISTANT

The Front of House Assistant role is perfect for those with strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills. Front of House Assistant duties include:

• Working alongside professional artists and production staff

• Collecting door lists

• Greeting and seating patrons

• Ensure smooth-running of performances

• Emergency procedures/wheelchair access


Please be aware that the AWESOME Festival works predominantly with established venues, many of which employ internal Front of House staff. This means that we only have limited Front of House positions for volunteers.


SCHOOL TOUR GUIDE

*Please note that the School Tour Guide role is the only role available during Schools week (Sept 19 - 23rd)

School Tour Guides will lead a school or community group through an unforgettable festival experience. This role would suit those studying education as you will engage with children to foster creative thinking.

School Tour Guide duties include:

• Guide a school group through their excursions following a schedule

• Assist workshop artists

• See an AWESOME Festival show


Volunteers in ALL roles must be flexible, happy to work in a busy festival environment, and willing to positively engage with the general public.

Please note: AWESOME accepts volunteers aged 15 or over. Volunteers aged 18 or over must hold a valid Working with Children Check.
