Literacy/Tutoring Help for Children

ORGANIZATION: Mountainland Association of Governments (MAG)

-RSVP is looking for individuals age 55+ in the community to h elp a struggling young person to grow in their reading/math skills and their confidence in themselves.

-The need is located at: Pleasant Grove (PG) Literacy Center, Boys and Girls Club, American Fork (AF) Library, or Nebo School District.

-PG Literacy Center:1 or 2 days a week, Mondays-Thursdays 3:30 PM - 6 PM.

-Boys and Girls Club: Times vary based on location, but generally: Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 9 AM or 3:45 PM- 4:30 PM.

-AF Library: 2 days a week for 3 hours each. Total 6 hours. Monday-Thursday, 3 PM - 6 PM.

-Nebo School District: Monday - Friday 8 AM - 4 PM (before school, during school, and after school opportunities available).

-The commitment is for a minimum of 6 months; 1-2 days a week. Sessions generally last 50 minutes per tutoring session. Adjusted schedule available during the summer.

Promoting positive aging by providing services to enable seniors to age at home with choice, independence and dignity.

Meals on Wheels is available to homebound individuals over age 60 and their spouses in Summit, Utah and Wasatch Counties.

Meals are delivered weekdays and meet the nutritional needs of older adults. The number of service delivery days is dependent upon need. Special diets are available.
