Ronald McDonald Family Room at Caroline's Corner provides families of children receiving medical treatment at Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital with the comforts of home while remaining just steps from their child’s bedside. The program provides a space where families can rest, reflect, and recharge at any point during their child’s treatment. This is also an one-on-one opportunity to connect with families and patients.
RMHC of GC is currently looking for community volunteers to help stock and push the Happy Wheels carts. To become a Happy Wheels volunteer, you must first meet the following criteria:
Attend a RMHC of GC Volunteer Interest Meeting
Complete and pass a background check
Complete one volunteer shadow shift at the RMHC House (3 hours total)
Complete one regular volunteer shift at the RMHC House (3 hours total)
Complete hospital on-boarding training (you will receive training information on RMHC)
*Please note that this volunteer opportunity is at our local Charlotte hospitals. You will not report to the RMHC House after your training shifts, you will report directly to the hospital you are volunteering at on your assigned shift.

Description
RMHC of Greater Charlotte is a home-away-from-home for families of seriously ill children from across the Carolinas and the country, who are receiving medical treatment at hospitals in Charlotte, North Carolina. During short-term or extended hospital stays, the House will provide a safe haven for families to rest, eat and find support from one another and the community as they cope with their children’s medical needs. We work alongside local hospitals, Hemby Children's and Levine Children's. RMHC of GC currently offers three family programs, the Ronald McDonald House, the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Caroline's Corner, and our Happy Wheels hospitality carts.
