Choose to DO, Inc. builds confidence and esteem for underserved black youth 12-17 years old, to embrace healthy mental development by introducing them to applicable skills and resources that foster socioemotional well-being. The Grant Writer writes grant proposals for Choose to DO, Inc. and applies knowledge of fundraising methods and plans to reach revenue goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders.
  • Identify grant funding opportunities.
  • Write, submit, and manage grant proposals.
  • Furnish prospective funders with supporting documents.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and the Development Team to send funders
  • information and to promote Choose to DO, Inc.
  • Maintain digital records.
Qualifications
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, energetic, and flexible.
  • Be mission-driven and passionate about our work.
  • Interest in improving performance to increase impact.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and team player.
  • Experience with research or grant writing preferred

Our Vision

Create a world where black youth (12-17 yrs.) thrive personally and are change agents in their communities.

What We do?

  • In 2017, Choose to DO, Inc. started an initiative to tackle low self-esteem in boys and girls 9 - 19 years old.
  • Breaking the Cycle is a program made up of 5 classes, that promote self-love and leadership among girls and boys 9 - 19 years old.
  • In 2020, Choose to DO, Inc. started online classes to provide at home instructions, as an extension of our initiative to tackle low self-esteem in young adults 9 - 19 years old.

Statistics

  • Since January 2017 we have mentored over 500 youth.
