TSA IAH K9 Decoys provide support by aiding in reality-based training and scenarios at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). Your role as a decoy volunteer will be to carry a concealed training aid and participate in real life airport activities in areas where a Passenger Screening Canine Team is conducting search exercises. As a decoy you will provide the working K9 with the opportunity to be paid with toy/reward for successfully isolating threat odor during training scenario.
Volunteer opportunities are ongoing at this location and open every morning from approximately 0600-1000.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer K9 Decoy! TSA HOU K9 Decoys provide support by aiding in reality-based training and scenarios at William P. Hobby (HOU) Airport. Your role as a decoy volunteer will be to carry a concealed training aid and participate in real life airport activities in areas where a Passenger Screening Canine Team is conducting search activity.
Description
Decoys must be at least 18 years old with a Government issued ID. However, we welcome participants under 18 to join a qualified decoy. This is a great opportunity for those under 18 to earn volunteer hours for school projects. Volunteer opportunities are scheduled one day at a time, with the opportunity to schedule through-out the year. This is an on-going year-round volunteer opportunity, as we schedule decoys seven days a week.

- Must be at least 18
- Volunteer activities can range from 2-6 hours on scheduled day. Volunteers can participate once every 60-90 days to avoid K9 scent discrimination. Opportunity is ongoing throughout year.
- Able to stand/sit for several hours, can navigate walking/moving through lines, and no fear of animals. Our dogs are scent dogs and not attack dogs. Bring props such as old rolling bags, handbags or backpacks that will not be used for future travel.
