Good Sports gives kids the lifelong benefits of sport and physical activity by providing new equipment, apparel and footwear to those most in need. Founded in 2003 with a donation of 500 basketballs, Good Sports has grown into a national organization that has donated over $72 million worth of equipment to give over 8 million kids a chance to play.

Description

Good Sports creates opportunities in sports and physical activity for kids through donations of brand-new sports gear. Our goal is to help youth serving programs: increase the total number of participants; enhance the experience for all young people involved; and create new opportunities in physical activity for the kids they serve. We exist to make sure that cost does not keep kids on the bench. The world of youth sports has split into two groups: the "haves" and the "have nots". While some families can afford gear, league fees and travel costs - many cannot. We know that kids who play do better. By supply youth organizations and schools with the gear they need, overhead costs are cut, and more resources become available, helping children stay connected to their communities.

Good Sports works with the sporting goods industry to obtain a variety of athletic gear, apparel and footwear. From our 37,000 sq ft warehouse, we are able to store the equipment, match it to the needs of approved organizations and then distribute to these organizations based all over the country.
