Volunteers are the heart of ProMedica/Heartland Hospice.
We are looking for special individuals who live in the Alton, Illinois are and surrounding communities, to join our growing team of amazing volunteers.
Our volunteer program is dedicated to providing quality care to our patients through several volunteer opportunities. Currently we are seeking volunteers in the following roles:
FRIENDLY VISITOR VOLUNTEERS
These special volunteers bring the gifts of friendship and support to our patients by visiting with them on a weekly basis. Through regular visits they are able to develop friendships that enhance the quality of life and ensure that our patients spend their final days in dignity, feeling loved and supported.
PET VISITOR VOLUNTEERS
This opportunity is for our volunteers with pet therapy certified dogs. Serving as a team for our agency, allows you to share your pet's unconditional love with our hospice patients. Pet therapy teams serve a special role in helping our patients to feel comforted and supported through the physical challenges they are facing.
