Tutor- Volunteer ESL tutors provide small group and/or one-on-one English as a second language (ESL) tutoring to adults 18-24 years old refugees, asylees, or victims of human trafficking in order to improve their English language skills to help clients move forward in life.

YMCA International Services provides client-centered services to refugees, survivors of human trafficking, asylees, and other vulnerable newcomers from around the world. Services include financial assistance, immigration legal services, post-release services, case management, employment education, and more. It is only through the support of our volunteers and donors that we are able to give back to our communities. When you volunteer at the Y, you take an active role in bringing about meaningful change in your community.

Description

YMCA International Services, as a center of the YMCA of Greater Houston, provides a number of social service programs for the low-income, immigrant and refugee community. From receiving newly arriving refugees at the airport, locating affordable housing, assisting with a job search, applying for immigration documents, Interpretation Dari/Farsi/Pashto, Spanish to English, Arabic, Swahili, Burmese, French, Mentor, Warehouse, Food Pantry, we do it all!
