Johnson STEM Activity Center (JSAC) is the home of the Super Soaker and other inventions, created by Dr. Lonnie Johnson. It is the hub of innovation that creates a safe space for students (primarily from minoritized communities) to have access to engineering and STEM opportunities through programs like robotics and computer programming. A magnet for community organizations and schools from across the country, people are drawn to the Center to meet Dr. Johnson and to see the development of cutting edge technologies and innovations.
We are in high demand for tours of the Center and are looking for enthusiastic, engaging, and passionate tour guides to share the history of JSAC to introduce new students to the Center. These tours typically take an hour to complete and all tour guides are required to participate in a 2 hour training prior to becoming a tour guide. The actual tour dates and times vary and are dependent on scheduling. All guides are advised to complete at least two tours a month.
Volunteers must have these qualifications:
- Adept in public speaking
- Adaptable/Flexible
- Personable
- Patient
- Quick Learner
- Good Time Management
- Time to take part in training
- Be able to guide the hour long tours
