Volunteers are critically important for visiting patients at the end of life that do not have family or friends that regularly visit. VITAS Healthcare is looking for Patient Care Volunteers to visit patients on hospice residing in assisted living, nursing homes and/or their own homes located in Florissant, MO 63031. This includes Florissant Valley Health and Rehab Center located at 1200 Graham Rd., Florissant, MO 63031. Patient Care Volunteer offer companionship, play music and games, read to patients and help in other meaningful ways.
Volunteers visit VITAS patients to provide specific, non- medical care through socialization and friendly visits. VITAS Healthcare provides comprehensive training and orientation for hospice volunteering on communication skills, family dynamics and how to make a positive difference for patients and their caregivers.
