Position Title: Grant Writer and Research Analyst
Department: Walking Right Project
Employment Term: 1 year (min. 10 hours - max. 15 hours weekly)
Reports to: Joy HolyoneofGod
Salary: unpaid Internship/ Volunteer


This volunteer opportunity will run from August 1, 2022 to August 1, 2023 with a three- day orientation and one-week mandatory virtual training. The schedule for this position is flexible. The Grant writer and Research Analyst will perform these duties with the assistance of the Program Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Investigate and identify prospective funding sources through colleagues, directories, periodicals, and internet research.
Research and initiate relationships with new prospective funders.
Write letters of inquiry and solicitations.
Match prospective funding sources with institutional priorities.
Draft compelling grant proposal narratives for general operating and restricted project grants.
Work with program manager to prepare project budgets that meet funder guidelines.
Verify that proposals have been received and that appropriate follow-up has occurred.
Submit project revisions to funders as necessary.
Prepare and submit reports for funders according to contractual obligations.

* Must be willing to work independently.
* Confident in speaking with new people from diverse backgrounds.
* Detail-oriented with strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
* Resourcefulness, creativity, and problem-solving skillset
* Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity
* Demonstrate use of computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Microsoft Teams, and Outlook.
* Must be comfortable with deadlines and have a reliable working computer or laptop.
* Ability to compose and edit correspondence, reports, and summaries
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
