On the first and third Thursday of the month, the Health Trust receives a large delivery of fresh produce and dry goods and we need volunteers to sort and store fresh produce and dry goods at The Health Trust’s Jerry Larson Food Basket. This food will later be provided to vulnerable members of our community. This involves lifting up to 50 lbs and loading and unloading boxes.
**You are not confined to this volunteer opportunity until you have received an email from Volunteers@healthtrust.com with additional information.**

About The Health Trust

Mission Statement
Our Mission: To build health equity in the Silicon Valley.
Description
Our Vision:
The Health Trust believes every Silicon Valley resident should have the opportunity to live a healthy life.
How:
We at The Health Trust believe that if Silicon Valley is a community where innovation is changing the world, then it also can be a community where innovation changes the lives of everyone - especially our most vulnerable residents - for the better.
As we strive to make our vision reality, we reflect the values of Silicon Valley. When we tackle a problem, we take the broad view. We rely on expertise, partnerships and best practices to generate solutions that will have the greatest impact on those we serve. We invest in projects that are sustainable, show measurable results and provide the greatest return on investment for the community.
With a strong emphasis on prevention, we focus our work through three initiatives: Healthy Living, Healthy Aging and Healthy Communities. Through direct services, we are helping one person at a time. And through policy advocacy and grantmaking, we are changing the local environment to promote healthy eating, healthy aging and healthy living.
