Recruiting Organization: East Central Indiana CASA
Madison County ranks among Indiana’s highest for substantiated child abuse and neglect cases and has the second longest list of children needing an advocate. Over 400 area children are waiting. Somebody should help them. You can be Somebody. East Central Indiana CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is actively recruiting, screening, and training individuals ages 21 and over to be child advocates. In only a few hours per month, a CASA volunteer serves as a child’s voice and guide as they navigate the legal system and decisions toward a safe, permanent home. Interested individuals may learn more at 400TooMany.org; call 765-649-7215 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. A free event, Sweet Treats and CASA, will be held Monday, July 25 at 5:30 pm at the CASA office in Anderson to explain details about being a CASA.
