We are very excited that after 20 years of providing service to our community. Camp Agape is a 501(c)(3), Non-Profit Organization operating in support of children between the ages of seven and 18 who have suffered the loss of a loved one. We offer the fun and activities of a summer camp and a creative program focused on helping children work with their loss, learn from their grief, and find new hope from their loss. This four-day program is offered at no cost to the children through private, community, and corporate giving sponsorships.

Our summer camp is only one of the many programs we offer to grieving children. We also provide a Family camp that includes a bonding experience for the entire family and many sessions through Footprints, our eight-week program that happens several times during the year.

With all this said, we are finally ready to take that big step and begin looking for the funding and capital investment to purchase a camp in the future. We know that every great journey begins with the first step. This is where you come in, we need a business plan for fundraising, and eventually will include a strategy to approach a big company or governmental agency in supporting our dream of owning a camp of our own. This will require many millions of dollars, so we need to have a tight business plan to

We are looking for an expert who can develop fundraising, buy & build, and growth strategies. Our nonprofit start-up business plan will need to clearly present the problem and the solution that your camp offers. And looking for it to comply with the investor requirements for nonprofits who are to receive either private or public grants.

I would love to hear from you if you would like to talk more!

Mission Statement

Camp Agape is a safe place that provides a fun and supportive atmosphere, while fostering faith, healing and hope for children, teens, and families through their grief journey.

Description

Camp Agape is a grief support program that supports children and families who are grieving the death of a loved one. Each year, Camp Agape assists children and families who are dealing with the death of a parent or other significant familial figure from tragedies such as homicide, suicide, illness, military combat, and COVID-19. Camp Agape provides a summer camp, family camp, and after school program.

The trained staff and counselors are committed to sharing the belief that there is Hope beyond despair and will provide a safe and nurturing environment for the children to heal from the pain of grief. We typically have 4 groups separated into boy/girl groups by age where each camper is paired with a Buddy who will mentor the camper throughout the entire camp program.

A child’s unresolved grief results in mental health problems that increase government costs (conservatively estimated at $250,000 over the course of a lifetime, per the National Alliance for Grieving Children research) for social and criminal justice programs. Children who have experienced the death of a parent are more likely to suffer depression, have substance abuse issues or commit violent crimes. Camp Agape helps children address their grief by learning positive and age appropriate coping skills.

We work to make children’s lives easier and equip their families with the tools to help the entire family through the pain, anguish, and ambiguity of the trauma that is grief due to the loss of a loved one.
