We’re looking for a friendly, energetic adult volunteer (ages 18 or older) to be a part of Hayward Public Library's Families for Literacy program. This monthly storytime serves families of adults enrolled in the Library's adult literacy tutoring program. Adult learners are encouraged to attend with their children (ages 0-10) for storytime, crafts, snacks, and free books to build their in-home library.

Our Storytime Volunteer would help with the following:

-Lead engaging storytimes featuring songs and movement

-Assist staff in setting up and tearing down room

-Assist with craft prep and helping when needed

Location:
Downtown Library, with future possibility of some events at the Weekes Branch Library
Minimum time commitment: 6 months
Requirements: LiveScan Background Check and Vaccine Record or Medical/Religious Exemption, 18 years or over
