Kindred Hospice is looking for volunteers in the Joliet area who are willing and able to visit hospice patients at facilities like Salem Village (1314 Rowell Ave), Rock Run (3315 Executive Drive), Lakeshore Rehab (3401 Hennepin Drive), Ascension (210 N. Springfield), and Spring Creek (777 Draper Ave). Volunteer Coordinator will go with you on the first visit to introduce you and show you the ropes. Minimal time commitment: 3x/month on any days/times you choose. We here are Kindred are very flexible and are very grateful for the time you are giving to bring a smile to our patient's faces. Having visitors makes their day!

If you are searching for a way to make a difference in the lives of others, you belong here. Hospice volunteers are a valuable part of our care team. Based on your interests and preferences, receive specific volunteer training to help improve the quality of life for others.

From providing companionship at a patient’s bedside, to running errands, and from assisting with administrative duties to creating gifts for patients and their families, one of our volunteer coordinators will help you discover the best fit for you.

  • Driver's License Needed
  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • Three (3) times per month. Stay 30 minutes or longer. Visit on any days/times you choose. We are flexible!
  • Drug test. Physical. Background check. Fingerprinting. Two-step TB test (all paid for by Kindred). Training provided. Must be vaccinated for Covid-19. Current driver's license and automobile insurance.
