In this vital role, you are the liaison between local authorities and Red Cross volunteers responding to local disasters, primarily single house fires. Requires strong communication skills, reliable phone & Internet service, and commitment to training. Once trained, sign up for 3-4 shifts per month (each shift 4-6 hours) and only respond during your window of availability. If nothing happens during your shift, which is most of the time, you go about your normal day. But if there is an event during your shift, the expectation is you can put aside what you are doing to respond. Be there - from the comfort of your home - when needed most.
Learn more at www.redcross.org/volunteer or contact your local Red Cross Volunteer Services Representative Ned Bloom by email Ned.Bloom@redcross.org or call/text 267-634-3766.
