New Heights Therapeutic Riding Center is searching for volunteers to assist in therapeutic horseback riding lessons. Volunteers at New Heights are able to witness the healing power of the horse, first hand, as horse leaders or side walkers during lessons. No horse experience is necessary, but you will need to complete a hands on training prior to signing up to assist with lessons. Description
New Heights Therapeutic Riding Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 1998. We are a the only PATH premier therapeutic equestrian center in the state of Louisiana. We are dedicated to positively impacting lives through our life changing equine therapy. We help people who have physical, cognitive, and emotional difficulties reach their full potential. We serve a wide variety of groups and individuals in our community and beyond.
Our facility is located on eight beautiful acres adjacent to Summergrove Polo Farms in Folsom, Louisiana. We also have access to 22 acres of wooded riding trails across from our property for our riders to enjoy. We have a fully handicap accessible facility with a covered arena and a 16 stall barn. Our arena is equipped with a wheelchair accessible ramp and a lift, which can hold up to 1,200 pounds to assist wheelchair bound clients to mount the horse.
