Want to make a difference?
Did you find NYC to be an expensive place even before the COVID-19 pandemic? Do you see the situation only worsening as time goes on and steep inflation has started to set in? Would you like to do something to help those who can least afford to live here? If so, assist a program created to address the myriad difficulties NYC residents face when navigating the complicated public benefits/housing system. In this particular role, provide webinar support at various benefit trainings geared toward social service professionals and partner agencies who directly serve some of the most vulnerable among us.
Guess what?! There are even more great opportunities for volunteers 55 and older in all 5 boroughs!
AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP in New York City works with over 250 partner organizations. If this opportunity is not for you, we can help you find another that is. Inquire about our active opportunities today and/or ask to be added to our contact list for after things settle down!
**Please note: all of our volunteer opportunities are for individuals 55 and older; also, most assignments are with our partners located across the City**
About AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP in New York City/CSSNY
633 Third Avenue, 10th Floor, New York, NY 10017, US
AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP in New York City was started in 1966 by the Community Service Society (CSS), an over 170-year-old nonprofit agency. CSS's mission is to identify problems which create a permanent poverty class in New York City, and to advocate the systemic changes required to eliminate such problems. CSS will focus on enabling, empowering and promoting opportunities for poor families and individuals to develop their full potential, to contribute to society, and to realize social, economic, and political opportunities.
AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP in New York City matches adults 55 and older with meaningful volunteer opportunities at New York City nonprofits. With more than 2,300 volunteers, our program is one of the largest senior volunteer programs in the nation. There are over 600 of us which operate nationally and many that do so internationally. We match volunteers on the basis of interests and abilities, community needs, geographic convenience, and experience.
