About RLC
The mission of RLC is to redistribute excess food to feed people experiencing food insecurity. Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC) is a nonprofit organization committed to fighting food insecurity and preventing wasted food . We have cultivated a network of dedicated food rescuers who bring food directly from our food donors to nonprofit recipients , letting neighbors help neighbors while reaping the environmental and economic benefits of reducing wasted food . Founded in 2013, our simple, but elegant model has saved over 8 million pounds of food since our inception
Position Summary
Rescuing Leftover Cuisine is seeking a marketing intern to help promote the RLC brand and spread awareness of food waste and food insecurity in our markets. The internship will provide a hands-on experience from preparing marketing materials to coordinating events and managing marketing campaigns. Interns have the chance to work directly with Marketing Director and Board Members and Advisory Council members and make true, meaningful impact in their time with the organization.
Responsibilities
Prepare various marketing materials, including emails, flyers, digital campaigns etc.
Recruit food donors, rescuers, and monetary donors
Analyze and optimize ongoing marketing campaigns
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Self-starter; ability to initiate and work independently
Great communication and writing skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize
Ability to interact professionally with potential partners in person, via phone, and email
Is excited about the opportunity to work in a young, growing, mission-driven nonprofit
RLC interns have the chance to work closely with the founders and have the opportunity to make true, meaningful impact in their time with the organization. This is a part-time, unpaid internship. Interns are expected to work 20 hours per week, the start date is in September 2022 with an end date in December 2022.
