Are you interested in helping refugees? We are looking for volunteers to practice English with refugees by meeting 1 on 1. You can choose to meet in person or remotely.
CWS Durham strives to empower refugees as they resettle to their new community. This means providing them tools and resources to be successful. 1 on 1 English support is greatly needed to help refugees feel more comfortable in their new environment and greatly increases their ability to find employment. Working 1 on 1 with a refugee can help give them the confidence to practice speaking English and help you meet one of your new neighbors!
Please contact Gracie gpietz@cwsglobal.org with any questions.

CWS affiliate agencies work hand-in-hand with seven participating denominations, local congregational cosponsors, and many other community volunteers to ensure that the newcomers have food, clothing, and other essentials as they help refugees learn English, find their way around town, enroll their children in school, look for work, and quickly become self-sufficient.
