About Legacy Classical Christian Academy

Location:

12501 US Highway 287, Haslet, TX 76052, US

Mission Statement

EIN: 27-3142971 Mission and Core Values Legacy Classical Christian Academy exists to glorify God by assisting Christian parents in their God-given mandate of training their children to be Christ-like leaders in their homes, churches, communities and the world. LCCA will spiritually strengthen families while providing the opportunity for students to acquire a high degree of academic excellence. Accredited with AdvancEd.

Description

Highly qualified teachers provide instruction on the Legacy Classical campus two to three days a week. The remaining weekdays are spent at home completing reinforcement assignments and projects. Parents and/or private tutors attend valuable training workshops to help ensure quality mentoring and learning at home. In general, students spend one to two hours on at-home assignments for each hour they spend in LCCA classrooms.

Our faculty, families and staff are committed to helping our students develop a Christ-centered worldview as they engage in academically advanced curriculum. This is the essence of a classical education. We adhere to this model through a structure called the Trivium, a Latin term meaning "the three ways" or "the three roads," which form the foundation of an individual’s formal education: grammar, logic and rhetoric. Grammar is the mechanics of a language; logic (or dialectic) is the mechanics of thought and analysis; rhetoric is the use of language to instruct and persuade. In addition, we employ the progymnasmata throughout lower school and upper school instruction. The progymnasmata are preliminary writing exercises that introduce students to basic rhetorical concepts and strategies.
