Mission: Established in 2002, Educating Students Together (EST) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Los Angeles whose mission is to create educational opportunities for youth from the foster care system and low-income communities. EST provides pre-college, in-college, and post-college services, including college application and scholarship essay coaching, college prep workshops, financial literacy, tuition assistance, mentoring, individualized support, alumni networking, and graduate school admissions assistance to over 400 youth from resource-limited neighborhoods, per year. Since its inception, EST has supported over 5,100 youth from low-income communities to help them realize their dreams of accessing higher education.

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities: We are looking for experienced grant writers/fundraisers/networkers who can research and identify funding, as well as develop, write, and submit proposals, letters, reports, and other materials as necessary to secure grant support from foundations, corporations, and government funding sources. The pro bono grant specialist we are looking for will have excellent writing, grammar, and communication skills.
The volunteer will:
* Investigate and identify prospective funding sources.
* Research, develop, and write inquiries, letters, and other fundraising documents.
* Draft compelling grant proposal narratives and other correspondence to solicit grant funds.
* Track and monitor proposals, their deadlines, and requirements.

Requirements:
* Experience in philanthropy and non-profit organizations, a plus
* Proven experience as a non-profit grant researcher or writer big plus
* Working knowledge of MS Office
* Demonstrated strong planning, communication, and organizational skills
* Excellent writing, grammar, and research skills. Time Commitment
* Flexible hours to be determined each week until the completion of the project, remote volunteer role, volunteers will need to be mindful of deadlines.
