About Dougy Center

Location:

Mission Statement

The mission of Dougy Center is to provide grief support in a safe place where children, teens, young adults, and their families can share their experiences before and after a death. We provide support and training locally, nationally, and internationally to individuals and organizations seeking to assist children who are grieving.

Description

The Dougy Center was the first program in the country to provide peer support groups for children, teens, and young adults who have experienced a significant death. We serve children 3-18 as well as their family members. While in a group, participants have the opportunity to talk about the death and utilize our creative expression rooms (art, dress up, big energy, and volcano). We currently have groups in both English and Spanish. Through out National Training Center we've helped to start hundreds of similar programs across the world.
