Heidi Duckler Dance is seeking volunteers for our upcoming Ebb & Flow Festival taking place at Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook on September 10th and 11th from 3-5pm.
Ebb & Flow is a free, site-specific community festival of local artists which integrates dance, visual arts, music, and technology to investigate climate change and its influence on the environment and consequently our health. We are excited to be featuring artists of various disciplines in our communal exploration of how climate change impacts our experiences, communities, environment, and society.
Volunteer duties will include ushering audience members and assisting with front of house, merchandise table, and light setup and breakdown. Available shifts are Saturday and Sunday from 2:30-5:30pm. All volunteers will be thanked in our program and will have the opportunity to see some of the amazing art being showcased!

Mission Statement
Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre (HDDT) creates ephemeral contemporary art experiences in extraordinary places that boldly redefine the relationship between audience and art. Through cultivating innovative collaborations with artists, arts organizations and local communities, HDDT brings meaningful interdisciplinary dance to new audiences throughout Los Angeles and the world.
Description
Initially founded in 1985, HDD is a pioneer in producing interdisciplinary performances. The company develops and rehearses each multi-sensory experience in the site where the work is performed. HDD advances social equity in under-resourced communities by providing opportunities for audience members and students to interact with meaningful spaces, both public and private, that they may not otherwise have access to.
For over 35 years, HDD’s Artistic Director, Heidi Duckler, has created over 500 original works locally, nationally and internationally, including in many LA neighborhoods such as: Downtown LA (Arts District, Produce District and Fashion District), Boyle Heights, Koreatown, Hollywood, San Pedro and South LA. Duckler’s work has been internationally recognized in Hong Kong (Urban Arts Festival 2007), Russia (International East-West Arts Exchange 2010), Montreal (Transatlantique Quartier 2013), Germany (Tanzmesse, 2014 & 2018), Australia (Brisbane Festival 2014), Cuba (Ciudad en Movimiento 2016) and Chile (Puerto de Ideas 2018). This year HDD was awarded grants for upcoming programs including; LA County Department of Arts and Culture, City of LA Department of Cultural Affairs, Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation, City of West Hollywood and Culver City, California Community Foundation, California Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts. HDD produces over 25 original productions each year and thousands of diverse residents are served annually.
