ORGANIZATION: The Animal Pad

TAP Logo

This is a more unique volunteer need than the ones we usually list - The Animal Pad all-breed dog rescue is looking for FOSTERS located in San Diego, CA!

Since we are a foster-based rescue, our organization would literally be nothing without our incredible foster families who are willing to open up their homes (and hearts) to a rescue pup in need. Fosters are truly the reason we are able to do what we do!

Why is fostering so important? - Fostering gives dogs a loving, safe place to stay while awaiting adoption, and it also gives them a big step-up in life. Fostering dogs before they are adopted not only allows rescues and shelters to take in more needy dogs, but it also allows these dogs the chance to begin healing from the scars of their former lives and adjust to being in a home before finding their fur-ever home! Fostering provides them crucial socialization skills and adjustment to new environments, which gives them a greater chance at getting adopted. It’s also a great way to see if adoption is right for you, and to learn how you can prepare yourself for a potential new best friend!
Fostering a dog is a wonderful experience for people who love animals, and is really for anyone who knows they can care for them - even if just temporarily! We ALWAYS have a need for more temp fosters!

The Animal Pad provides all necessary supplies and covers all vet care costs, you just need to provide a safe, warm home, and all of the love and affection that these sweet souls deserve. Us humans are eternally grateful to all of our amazing fosters, but nothing could ever possibly top the undying love and affection of a foster pup whose life you helped save!

"Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world will change forever."

About The Animal Pad

Location:

4620 Avocado Blvd, La Mesa, CA 91941, US

Mission Statement

The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue based in San Diego, CA that focuses on saving dogs from the streets of Mexico and high kill shelters. We get them the vet care they need, place them in foster homes and then find them loving forever families. Our mission is to form a safe space for dogs experiencing crisis and neglect, and to build a community of compassion through education, rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption. Our community of volunteers and fosters strives to ensure that all dogs get a fighting chance, and believes that no case is too extreme to be helped - meaning our rescue is full of perfectly imperfect dogs who can’t wait to meet you! Being operated solely by volunteers and funded entirely by donations, none of what we do could be possible without our dedicated team!

Description

Here at TAP, we give voice to the voiceless and our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find them the best homes possible. Founded in 2010, The Animal Pad is volunteer run and funded entirely by donations. We rescue dogs primarily off the streets of Mexico, and provide them full medical care and a loving foster home to heal in before they head to their adoptive home.
