Friends of the Chicago River is seeking over 100 volunteers to help us put on our Summer Float Party on Sunday, August 14 from 12:30 - 5:00 pm! Around 500 participants will float down the Chicago River from River Park to Clark Park, and then they will enjoy an After Party at Clark Park.

Friends of the Chicago River has been working since 1979 to improve the health of the Chicago River system for the benefit of people and wildlife and by doing so, has laid the foundation for the river to be a beautiful, continuous, easily accessible corridor of open space in the Chicago region. A float party on the river would have been inconceivable in 1979, so we are thrilled to celebrate the major improvements that have been made to the health and water quality of the Chicago River system with this year's Summer Float Party!

Volunteers are needed for the following shifts on Sunday, August 14:

  • 10:30am - 2:30pm at River Park -- Event Support and Setup
  • 10:30am - 2:30pm at Clark Park -- Event Support and Setup
  • 1:00pm - 5:00pm at Clark Park -- Event Support
  • 3:00pm - 6:00pm at Clark Park -- Event Support and Cleanup
