Mission Statement

The mission of Harry and Helen Webb Connection, Inc. (HHWC) is to improve the lives of senior citizens. We provide services with the opportunities for recreation, education, social interaction, and community activism. HHWC gives physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being for the seniors who participate in our organization’s activities. We aim to foster the independence and prosperity of senior citizens enhancing their dignity and self-respect and promoting their participation in and contribution toward all aspects of community life.

Description

The Harry and Helen Webb Connection (HHWC) was established in 2019 to address the health and well-being of senior citizens residing in urban areas. HHWC’s mission is to provide opportunities that support physical, cognitive, emotional, social well-being and independence among the target population. As a relatively recent organization, HHWC has undertaken a few community-based activities. We sponsored adult care center information sessions for seniors, distribution of Daily Living Packages, a winter coat drive for students currently raised by grandparents, sponsorship of secondary school graduation fees for eight students currently raised by grandparents, provision of tablets to individuals in low-income communities, and distribution of holiday toys for families living in shelters in Newark.

Strategic Goals
The short-term objective is to establish a rapport with senior citizens in the community. To furnish financial relief to them for the items that are being donated in the daily living packages. The goal is to help lighten the burden of trips to the grocery store. The short goal is to revitalize healthy cognitive skills such as thinking. reasoning and remembering. The long-term objective is to stabilize this program in HHWC’s organization. The extensive goal is to be able to provide this program to more senior citizens in the Essex County area in the future.
