The American Heart Association is working to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives - a world where everyone can achieve the best possible health - and it starts right here on Long Island.

The Heart Walk is a fun family event where participants walk with friends, family members and co-workers and get moving together as they join more than a million people in more than 300 communities across the country in taking a stand against heart disease and stroke - the No. 1 and No. 5 killers of Americans. Each walker is raising money to help fund the valuable lifesaving research, education and advocacy efforts of the American Heart Association.

Volunteer responsibilities may include:

  • Event setup
  • Stationed at a tent or table
  • Handing out water
  • Replenishing stations
  • Directional help
  • Route helper
