LIFE on the Spectrum is a social group especially for young adults with any and all developmental disabilities, and is sponsored by The Mosaic Center and Easterseals East Georgia. LIFE on the Spectrum meets monthly at Mosaic Church for fellowship and fun, and also ventures out into the CSRA for a monthly community outing. We hope to encourage and speak LIFE -- Learning, Independence, Fun, and Employment -- in all that we do!
An awesome Peer Mentor is a friend and source of encouragement to our young adults that attend LIFE on the Spectrum events! That may look like helping a friend with moderate to severe special needs with art projects or games, participating in games like bingo, cornhole, or trivia, or building relationships with parents/caregivers and young adults. This volunteer opportunity is great for high school students, college students, and adults. Best of all, you'll have fun!
This opportunity is specifically for our monthly 'Mosaic Meetup' which is typically on the last Friday of the month and has a creative theme.

Mission Statement
The Mosaic Center builds lives and breaks cycles by helping individuals eliminate the educational, financial, relational, and spiritual barriers to lasting transformation.
Description
The Mosaic Center was birthed out of a passion for seeing our community meet folks at the point of their need -- whether physical, emotional, relationship, or spiritual -- in order to help them think beyond those needs and toward a future filled with hope. We help build lives and break destructive cycles of those living in crisis or chronically difficult and chaotic situations by offering individualized and customized training and support in the areas of adult education and employment, special-needs children, and addiction and recovery.
Today we seek to fulfill that vision by continuing to develop projects and opportunities that meet real needs in both Richmond and Columbia counties. We believe that for real change to happen, community is essential. That means all our programs have the value of relationship at their core. We focus on three points of connection: education, empowerment, and employment. Whatever the need, we are driven by the love of Christ to build lives and break cycles.
Our programs include free and self-paced GED Tutoring, food and necessities provided through our Pantry and Pathways, support and empowerment through The Mosaic Center at Maxwell House, Christ-centered 12-step recovery at Free Tuesdays, and support and care for families with children and adults with disabilities through Exceptional Circles.
